VBS!

Last week I did absolutely nothing but work and study for my mid-terms. I haven't had time to spend with any of my friends, or family for that matter. I feel like I have gained 10 lbs due to my excessive cookie-eating and my non-working-out. And now... this week is my church's VBS! Our theme is "Big Apple Adventure"!
I will have to post pictures of our church and classrooms that are all New York themed! It's so exciting and fun to see all of the children having such a great time. My job is CRAFTS! Let me just say, I love children... I really do. But if you are ever wondering if you want kids in the future, just babysit some 3rd graders for 25 minutes and you just might reconsider! Expect to see some VBS pictures soon!

Stranded.

Last night I was taking Josh home and my car quit in his driveway. No big deal. But then I tried to crank it and.... absolutely nothing. I finally got it cranked and sped off so hopefully I would make it home. Well, I barely made it through a 4-way stop and was stranded on the side of the road... alone... at 9 PM. I was on the verge of a panic attack. And of course I pull out my phone and it freezes. So then, like an idiot, I start screaming "JOSH! JOSH! JOOOOSSSSHHH!" because luckily I was not too far from his house. Well, aparently Josh didn't hear me. I turned on my flashers and finally got my phone to work (of all the times for it to freeze up!) and Josh ran to my car like a knight in shining armor. I was SO happy I was not by myself anymore. However, I was gripping a screw driver ready to stab someone in the face if they tried to murder me- gotta be prepared! :) I did find out what's wrong with my car. A few years ago I received a recall notice in the mail describing the problem and it said I would be able to have it fixed at no charge. Well, I call the nearest dealership that is about an hour and a half away and of course it is free to fix it! But only after they charge me $350 for a diagnostic test. To say the least I am furious and ready to trade it in! It's a 2005 Volvo and I shouldn't be having issues like this!

Here's a helpful hint. Don't buy a foreign car. Buy a common car- more people will know how to fix it, and it will be cheaper too!

Have a great day!

My surprises!!

Okay so surprise number one is.... I ACTUALLY FINISHED A BOOK! I read "Heaven is for Real" by Todd Burpo in a matter of three days. I surprised myself on this one. ;) Am I even spelling "surprise" correctly? I always thought it was "suprise" and now I get confused which spelling is correct. I should've used a different word or spellcheck for that matter. I hate typos. ANYWAY, enough of my ADD ramblings. I really suggest you read this book, it's an amazing true story of a little boy who gets very sick and while he's in surgery he gets to visit heaven. It's a must-read. :)

Secondly, Monday I had a package sitting on the couch and I was so excited to open it.... Josh got me:

An IPAD! :) I was so excited and was jumping up and down! I named her "Izzy." Izzy the iPad. :) I have the BEST boyfriend in the entire world. On the back he had it engraved, "Erica & Josh, November 2, 2007" How cute is that?! I tried blogging on it last night but it was quite difficult so until Apple gets a Blogger app, I will have to blog from my laptop.

Everyone have a great day!

My weekend!

I had a fabulous weekend! Saturday, Josh and I went to Dothan and shopped. :) I went to Target and got two pairs of colorful shorts (One aqua blue, the other black.) Along with some cute V-neck shirts for only $6 a piece! I also indulged a little bit at the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale.
I got several lotions (I've started using some already that's why they're not pictured!) I'm in love with Sunkissed Raspberry and Brown Sugar & Fig. :) I also got a Brown Sugar & Fig body wash along with Eucalyptis Spearmint Body wash and lotion. They also had alot of their candles on sale, although I don't burn candles very often I bought a small candle in Pineapple Orchid along with a roomspray. PocketBac Antibacterials were 8 for $5! The selection of body washes, lotions, and sprays were limited because they only had a few scents on sale. I didn't buy as much as I intended thinking they were going to have a wide selection of scents!

Tomorrow I have a speech due, it's an "Introduction" speech. I'm quite nervous! I've rehearsed and rehearsed hoping to breeze through it. Wish me luck!

Minute to Win it!

I don't know if you all have seen the show "Minute to Win it" but it is a game show where the contestants must complete a challenging task in less than 60 seconds. Tonight at church my College & Career class challenged the Youth to "Minute to Win it". If you notice we all had t-shirts with "minute" slogans! :)

The first picture is Alycia having to stack five die on a popsicle stick in her mouth!
Kala picking up pieces of penne pasta with a piece of uncooked spaghetti. I painted her "Minute Maid" shirt- get it?

Below is Matt having to work a cookie off of his forehead into his mouth by only using facial movements! No hands allowed.
There's my darling Josh having to keep 3 balloons in the air for one minute. No one successfully completed this round.
Heath had to wrap a whole roll of toilet paper around himself without tearing the paper! There's Josh again holding the roll while Heath spun around. Josh's shirt front says "It only takes me..." and then on the back it says "57 Seconds".
Look at his concentrated little face. He didn't successfully complete this round either. "A" for effort! haha
Heath had to throw playing cards at a watermelon and whoever got the cards to stick to the watermelon in less than a minute won.
 We won. :)
Here's Lindsay (SouthernCinderella) being a "Chocolate Unicorn". She had to stack 7 ding-dongs on her forehead.
 ...And they toppled over!
Here's the back of my shirt. It says "Got a Minute?" I was getting ready to blow a bunch of ping pong balls off of a table yet keeping the orange ones on the table! I won this round. :)
Here's Alycia again trying to hang each coat hanger in the center of each hanger. It was so difficult!
We WON! The youth and the other adults lost. Here's a group photo. Oh, did I mention the host of Minute to Win it was there?! Yes Guy Fieri himself was there! ;) Ha, just kidding. That's really not him, that's my sunday school teacher, Neil. He was quite convincing though!
Below is a picture of Lindsay and I with the "host".
Here's the boys showing off their fancy little shirts.
I hope yall enjoyed this post! I said I would start taking more pictures and I did. :)

Have a great night!

Manic Monday!

Random thoughts of the day:
  1. It's 100 degrees outside and my makeup has actually stayed on, so that's great..
  2. I have a chip in my toenail polish and I feel like everyone stares at it.
  3. The new Lady Gaga CD is fabulous. <3
  4. I need to find a cute "floppy hat" for the beach in July.
  5. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are all ugly. They look so fake!
  6. The Sun Drop commercial is so annoying. Girl... STOP THAT DANCING!
  7. I'm SOO excited for the bath & body works sale this weekend! $3 sprays & lotions. :)
Josh and I decided to take a walk around the block around 8 PM tonight- it was so hot outside. We started walking and then of course it started lightening everywhere so we had to run as fast as we could back to my house. I thought I was in shape before I started running. Yeah, I'm not so in shape. haha I have to work all day tomorrow so I'm trying to wind down so I can get to sleep at a decent hour. Hope everyone had a good day. :)

Have a great night everyone!

Since last time...

Since last time I posted I have started my summer classes. I'm taking Macroeconomics and Speech. Yeah, that's not how I wanted to spend my summer. Honestly, I love to blog but unfortunately my life is not very eventful at the moment. I'm gonna try to blog more, I've said that a few times already but I'm really gonna put forth the effort this time around. :) For right now I'm going to list a few things I will be looking forward to this Summer!

1. Emerald Grande Beach Resort in Destin, Florida. LOVE THIS PLACE. If you ever go to Destin this is the place to stay! I stayed there last Labor Day weekend and here was my view when I woke up in the morning:

2. Being tan. :)  Up until last Sunday I was very pale. Then I decided to put tanning accelerator all over my body and lay out in the sun for a few hours. Mission accomplished... I now have color! I like being super tan though. When my face is tan I never wear makeup so I'm hoping I can squeeze in some sun time again soon!

3. Lazy days. I pretty much work every Saturday... so having a Saturday off will be soooo great this summer. Sleeping in (which I never get to do), then spending the day doing something I wanna do!

4. Sundresses.  I think dresses are the most comfortable clothes ever. Especially the flowy, light, silky feel of a summer dress. :)

5. Sunroof. I absolutely love having my sunroof back and windows down on a summer day's drive.

There are so many other things I'll be looking forward to this summer and the above just named a few. Considering I have a very expensive camera sitting on top of my printer collecting dust... I'm thinking I need to start taking more pictures! So be expecting them very soon!

Night Y'all!
